HOW LONG IS THE PROGRAM?

The Jamileh Kamran Arkansas Fashion Study Program is currently 35 months.

 

WHAT IS THE AGE REQUIREMENT?

Our age requirement is 14 years old and up.

HOW MANY HOURS A WEEK ARE THE CLASSES?

Class times are once a week for 5 hours:

 

Current Open class Availability: 

Tuesday Morning: 8:30am to 1:30pm

Thursday Afternoon : 1:30pm - 6:30pm

Saturday Afternoon: 1:30pm to 6:30pm

 

Class sizes are limited to 8 students per instructor. Other Class Sessions may be available based on interest and availability Tuesday - Saturday. 

WHAT IS ACCOMPLISHED AFTER THE TWO YEARS?

Students with the competition of the Fashion Study Program will receive their diploma in Fashion Design.

WHAT IS THE JOB AVAILABILITY?

After a student finished our program in-state and out-of-state: tailor, pattern maker, draper, fashion consultant, fashion stylist, personal shopping designer, boutique owner, fashion designer, costume designer, fashion design sketcher, textile designer, fashion show coordinator, and private label.

 

DO YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO SEW PRIOR TO ATTENDING JAMILEH KAMRAN ARKANSAS FASHION SCHOOL?

No. All students will start at the very beginning at the A-Vocational Basic Tailoring course because our system of training is different compared to those who have been sewing or learned to sew.

WHAT IF I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO SKETCH?

It is not required for the incoming student to know how to sketch because fashion sketching is thought within the courses.

 

IS MY HIGH SCHOOL GPA A REQUIREMENT?

Applicants do not need to prove High School GPA. However they must provide proof of providing one of the following:

  • A copy of a high school diploma or its equivalency:

    • GED

    •  Official high school transcript

    • or written certification by a cognizant authority for home-schooled students.

If the applicant is unable to have a copy of the above, then they may also provide proof of:

  • Official Transcript of Completion of at least six credit hours or 225 clock hours that are applicable towards a degree or certificate offered by the post-secondary institution;

  • Proof of Completion of a State process -approved by the U.S. Secretary of Education. 

IS THERE ANY GAP BETWEEN THE COURSES?

At the Jamileh Kamran Arkansas Fashion School, once a course is completed, the following class will begin the new course. The school is closed for one week for Thanksgiving and two weeks for Christmas.

 

WHAT IF I AM OUT OF TOWN FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS?

Based on our policy on absences, students who missed 5 hours must cover their missed hours on the following week.  Any other absences must be approved by Jamileh Kamran.  If the student is sick, they must provide a doctor’s note in order to have an excused absence.

 

WOULD I BE ABLE TO FINISH THE FASHION STUDY PROGRAM BEFORE TWO YEARS?

It is possible to finish the Fashion Study Program before two years; the student would need to attend the Jamileh Kamran Arkansas Fashion School twice a week (10 class hours per week) in order to complete in one year.

 

WHAT QUALITIES/TRAITS DOES JKAFS LOOK FOR IN NEW STUDENTS?

Passion in fashion design and commitment to the time it takes for completing the program both in and out of school.
